The Olympic ideal lives on!

The Olympic ideal lives on at Hazlehead Academy in the annual staff versus pupil school Lympics! S6 pupils take up the annual challenge to beat staff in a lunchtime series of five sports. This annual challenge usually results in the staff beating the pupils but perhaps this year will be different!

Monday - Football Staff 9 Pupils 8
Staff start the week by thrashing the pupils 9 goals to 8. The experience of staff showed and pupils were just unable to compete!

Tuesday - Basketball Staff 22 Pupils 36
Pupils have fought back and managed to scrape a narrow victory over the staff in a keenly fought basketball competition.

Wednesday - Volleyball Staff 1 Pupils 2
The first match went to the staff then the pupils pulled one back. A keenly fought final match saw the pupils just squeeze through as winners.

Thursday - Hockey Staff 4 Pupils 6
Yes, the pupils have beaten the teachers and lead by three sports to one! All that is left now is for the teachers to salvage some pride in the Badminton. Will it happen?

Friday - Badminton Staff 10 Pupils 4
A guest appearance by Ginger Spice was enough to pep up the teachers performance and they won the final match of the 2008 Lympics.
Pupils have still won overall by 3 matches to 2 which says a lot about the quality of their teaching in the PE courses.
