Hazlehead aims to help less
Fortunate Children
Pupils at Hazlehead can help with this year's 'Shoe Box Appeal'. For
over ten years, Mrs Milne and the Marischal House Captains have been
running the Rotary Shoebox Appeal, to send boxes over to Central and
Eastern Europe, to try to help make less fortunate children's
Christmas a better time for them. This year, it has been decided to
open up the appeal to the whole school to try and make up as many
boxes as we possibly can. To help with this, a short video clip was
shown at Assemblies last week which showed the impact the boxes have
on the children who receive them.
The House Captains hope that every Form Class can fill at least one
shoe box. Individual pupils can also fill a shoe box by collecting
one from Mrs Milne or one of the House Captains. Boxes will be
collected before Friday 20th of November.
Information on filling a shoe
box
The boxes cannot be wrapped this year as
customs need to be able to check the contents. Food items (including
sweets) CAN NOT be included. All boxes are the same size which makes
it fairer for the young people receiving the boxes and makes it
easier to stack them for transportation to Eastern Europe.
Boxes can be made up for one of the
following categories and marked on the box.
Male or Female
Baby, toddler, primary age or teenager.
Here are some suggestions for what could
be included in the box: |
