The Science Museum comes to
Hazlehead
Pupils from S1
at Hazlehead were treated to a show from the Science Museum
Launchpad Outreach Project, a three year programme to bring
the experiences and ethos of the Science Museum's innovative,
interactive Launchpad
gallery into the classroom. They were given a special demonstration
on things electrical called 'Danger High Voltage'. This comprised
of a series of hair-raising high-voltage
demonstrations which made the show about electricity and magnetism
an electrifying experience. Hazlehead was one of three schools in
Aberdeen which were able to book the demonstrations by a team from
the Science Museum in London. First year class, 1DP, were also
involved in other activities including
designing and creating their own chain reaction contraptions.
